Phil Everly

The Buddy Holly Education Foundation loses a Special Friend. “We owe these guys everything. They started it all.” – Bob Dylan
Phil and his brother Don toured as The Everly Brothers and were the most successful recording duo of their era. The brothers toured extensively with Buddy Holly & The Crickets in the late 1950’s, and members of both groups became friends and wrote together. Buddy and Bob Montgomery, a friend and writing partner of Buddy’s, wrote two songs for the Everly Brothers to consider recording. Phil became a close friend of Buddy, and the Foundation recently honored him as a Lifetime guitar recipient, named after one of those songs “Wishing”.
