Waddy Wachtel

The consummate ‘guitarist’s guitarist’, Waddy Wachtel has played session and live guitar for many top artists from the early 1970s onwards, including Linda Ronstadt, Stevie Nicks, Fleetwood Mac, Keith Richards, the Everly Brothers, the Rolling Stones, Jon Bon Jovi, James Taylor, Iggy Pop, Warren Zevon, Andrew Gold, Jackson Browne and Bryan Ferry.

Waddy has also played on and written many film scores and since 2000 has been performing around Los Angeles with his self-named band featuring regular members such as Bernard Fowler, Blondie Chaplin and Keith Allison, and occasional guests such as Keith Richards, Roger Daltrey and Neil Young.

In 2011, Waddy was music director for Buddy’s 75th Birthday Celebration, a tribute event at the Musicbox Theater in LA, held on the evening Buddy’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star was unveiled.

Since 2018, he has been in another band, the Immediate Family, which contains the elite session musicians Danny Kortchmar, Russ Kunkel, Leland Sklar and Steve Postell, and he continues to tour with Stevie Nicks.
