The Zombies

The Zombies, originally called the Mustangs, came together in Hertfordshire, near London, in 1961. After winning a London Evening News talent contest for beat groups, they signed to Decca.

Their debut single, ‘She’s Not There’, climbed to number 12 in the UK and number two in the US. A great start for any group: a transatlantic hit, a million seller and a gold disc.

Further hits like ‘Tell Her No’ and ‘Time of the Season’ cemented the band’s place in the rock scene with their haunting harmonies. The Zombies’ second album, Odessey and Oracle, released in 1967, gradually achieved critical praise and a cult following, and has since become one of the most acclaimed albums of the 1960s.

In 2019, after several nominations, the band were finally inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They reunite regularly to tour together and to record new, exciting sounds.
