Graham Gouldman

Graham Gouldman is one of the UK’s greatest songwriters, having written classic tunes for the Hollies, such as ‘Bus Stop’, as well as ‘For Your Love’ for the Yardbirds, along with hits for Herman’s Hermits and Wayne Fontana and his own bands 10cc and Wax.

Graham’s Buddy Holly guitar is a nod to his first group, the Whirlwinds, who released their cover of Buddy’s ‘Look at Me’ on HMV in June 1964. Whereas Buddy’s original was keyboard based, Graham’s band of Salford lads gave ‘Look at Me’ the guitar-laden British treatment, with an almost country-style instrumental break.
