Brian Poole

In the mid-1950s, Brian Poole, heavily influenced by buddy holly and the Crickets, started performing with friends Alan Blakley and Alan Howard. They went on to form the Tremeloes, who predominantly covered Buddy Holly and the Crickets records, with Brian as lead vocalist.

With their unique sense of harmony, the Tremeloes soon developed a wide fanbase and following. In 1964, a long-standing correspondence with Buddy’s manager and producer Norman Petty led to Brian and the Tremeloes covering ‘Someone, Someone’, which had been the Crickets’ first release after separating from Buddy. Norman went on to play piano on two other Tremeloes recordings, ‘The Three Bells’ and ‘After a While’.

Brian Poole received his replica of the Buddy Holly J-45 in conjunction with his daughter, Shelly Poole, and her husband, Ally McErlaine.
